Shelton Veterinary Hospital prides ourselves on being a family-operated veterinary hospital. We bring our founding tradition and values to each day that our veterinary hospital operates (Monday through Friday), but we also rely on our tightly-knit team of staff to help us make it all happen.

Meet Our Veterinarians
Dr. Benjamin Franklin Shelton III grew up locally, in Speed, NC. He went to North Carolina State University for his undergraduate education, completed his master’s degree at Clemson University and went on to obtain his veterinary degree at Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine in Alabama.
Dr. Lauren Shelton Newman was born and raised right here in Williamston, North Carolina. She went to the University of North Carolina Wilmington for her undergraduate education and went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Ross University College of Veterinary Medicine on the beautiful Caribbean island of St. Kitts. She completed her year of clinical rotations at N.C. State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Amy Reason is a Martin County native who attended North Carolina State University for both undergrad as well as vet school.
Our hard-working and highly-trained staff are also a huge reason
we’re able to enjoy the success we have achieved to date.
